Hello From The Change Coach!

As a certified change management practitioner, HR consultant, and grief specialist, I help organizations and individuals turn transitions into opportunities for growth.

As universal as change is, it’s also deeply personal.

I was a corporate change practitioner for more than a decade. I supported systemic changes in information technology, and organizational changes to programs, policies and culture. What I’d observe over and over again was that the people most resistant to the changes were always navigating something deeper and more personal alongside it.

Their explanations were more like pleas to be excused from the changes forced upon them: “I can’t deal with this right now–I have a mother with Alzheimer’s!” Or, “I don’t have it in me to do something different after 20 years!” I knew I needed to shift my support to address the underlying mental and emotional roadblocks.

My Philosophy on Change

It is global in nature, deeply personal in execution, and reinforced through collaboration.

The hurdles to change are never what people think they are. You simply cannot clear the obstacles that stall us or barrel through them if you don’t have footing, drive or momentum to get moving.

The best leaders know this.

Whether it’s adapting to a new responsibility, a new environment, policies and procedures at work, or an acute personal change we can’t quite adjust to, the path forward really begins with the simplest of things: getting people to identify and communicate where they are and where they want or need to be. And I’ll help you do that—with clarity, collaboration or community, and while fostering resilience along the way. Let’s make some changes together.

If You Can Say It, You Can See It

I have Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees and concentrations in journalism and public relations from the University of Maryland at College Park and American University. So how does someone with a background in communications build a career steeped in change?

Well, the nuances of what motivates and resonates with people are what shape my work.

Mobilizing people into action and pinpointing exactly what activates them are truly rooted in persuasive and strategic communication. I’ve spent close to ten years perfecting my change methods and modalities to concentrate on the emotional responses to intellectualized decisions.

I know that when people feel heard and supported, change becomes less about retreating and resistance, and more about seeing the opportunities.

Author, Speaker & Coach

I’m also the founder of The Change Coach Presents —a multimedia brand and platform that includes my podcast, books, content, and live engagements that address grief, trauma, and the resiliency of change. My workbook series—The Good Grieve and My Good Grieve—provides practical tools for adults and youth navigating life after loss, hardship and the changes that come with them. My youth workbook has earned the distinctive honor as an official resource of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) Trauma Response Team.

Both the adult and youth workbook series are available at goodgrievebooks.com and wherever books are sold online. Or, get instant access to your FREE eBook here!

There’s a Time For Change, and a Time to be Still.

When I’m still, you’ll find me binging reality TV and murder mysteries, or forcing my family to watch classic 80s and 90s movies together. Our favorites are Good Burger and BIG.

Media Kit

If you’ll have me, I’d love to deliver one of my signature talks to your community, or develop a service package tailored to your industry and challenges. In the meantime, you can find my complete media kit here, or call or text me right now 240-226-3639.
